User:RGKMA/sandbox/List of invasive plant species in Massachusetts
Numerous non-native plants have been introduced to Massachusetts in the United States and many of them have become invasive species. The following is a list of some non-native invasive plant species established in Massachusetts.
The list below is a partial inventory of non-native species that are considered to be an existing threat or potential threat

Invasive
[edit]Invasive plants are non-native species that have established self-sustaining populations within native or minimally managed ecosystems in Massachusetts, where they cause economic or ecological harm by becoming dominant and disrupting the structure or function of those systems.[2]

Likely invasive
[edit]Likely invasive plants are non-native species that have become naturalized in Massachusetts but have not yet met all the established criteria required for classification as officially invasive.[4]
Potentially invasive
[edit]Potentially invasive plants refer to non-native species that are not currently naturalized in Massachusetts but are predicted to establish and proliferate in minimally managed habitats, posing a risk of becoming invasive and impacting native ecosystems.[5]
