Nick Abonyo is a seasoned music producer, entrepreneur, and studio administrator based in Nairobi, Kenya. He currently serves as the Studio Administrator at Ketebul Music, overseeing artist relations and daily studio operations.
Born in Mirogi and raised in Kanyamwa, Nick studied Information Technology at Moi Institute of Technology after completing high school at St. Augustine's Mirogi Boys High School in 2006. He joined Ketebul Music in 2011 as an intern and became a key member of the team, managing both creative and administrative responsibilities. That same year, he joined the Singing Wells project, dedicated to recording, archiving, and sharing traditional East African music.
In 2014, Nick was part of the creative crew representing Kenya at the Smithsonian Festival in Washington, D.C., showcasing the country’s rich musical heritage on a global stage. He has also contributed to major projects such as Retracing Kenya’s Songs of Protest and the Shades of Benga book.
As a former songwriter and collaborator, Nick’s work includes the track Mor Magombo, featuring Big Pin, which has remained a part of the Kenyan music scene for over a decade. Beyond music, he is an entrepreneur involved in ventures that support Kenya’s creative industry.
A proud father, Nick balances his personal and professional life with a deep commitment to preserving and advancing Kenyan music and culture.
