Seerat Medak is an annual Islamic cultural and educational festival held in Medak, Telangana, India. The event celebrates the Seerat-un-Nabi the life and teachings of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ through student competitions, performances, and prize ceremonies. It is organized primarily by the Girls Islamic Organisation (GIO) and Students Islamic Organisation (SIO), both affiliated with Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH).
History
[edit]Seerat Medak was initiated in early 2023 to encourage students from Medak district and surrounding areas to explore and present the Prophetic life through Islamic arts and education. Since its inception, the festival has been held annually, gaining momentum and increasing participation with each edition.[1]

Notable Editions

[edit]The inaugural 2023 edition included dramatic presentations, speeches, nasheeds, and quizzes. A large concluding ceremony was held with prizes awarded.[2]

[edit]GIO organized a separate session for girls featuring speeches, nasheeds, and discussions on the Seerah.[3]
2025
[edit]The 2025 edition of Seerat Medak witnessed widespread participation from students across Medak. Events were conducted over several days with separate segments for girls and boys. The final prize distribution was held in February 2025.[4]

Impact
[edit]The festival is now recognized locally for encouraging Islamic education, public speaking, and creative expression rooted in Prophetic teachings. It has contributed to inter-school engagement and has provided a platform for students to explore Islamic themes beyond textbooks.
