[edit]1833 - Mark M seizes power in coup. Rules by decree for 2 years.
1835 - Calls 1st Elections, founds Liberal Party. Confirmed as 1st president. Liberals biggest party with 39 seats,
1838 - 2nd Elections held. Mark M Retains presidency. Liberals remain biggest party with 34 seats.
1843 - 3rd Elections held. Mark M Retains presidency. Liberals remain biggest party with 37 seats.
1848 - 4th Elections held. Ted Kisney becomes 2nd president. Conservatives are biggest party with 39 seats.
1850 - Electoral Amendment Act. Congress becomes Senate. Lower House creates, the Assembly. Government must form in Assembly, with Prime Minister appointed.
1853 - 5th Elections held. Mark M returned as president. Conservatives are biggest party with 40 seats.
