Hello! Im Max, a danish student doing this purely out of interest in history and danish elections.

Roughly 12 year old cat who the account is named after

Both my english and danish skills are admittedly quite lacking so feel free to correct it

Im probably more compotent than the average clown at The DI when it comes to my cats silly acts or the time my dog ate an entire batch of kittens(alive).

If you for some reason need cat pics to use for your article feel free to use mine which i publish on my Wikimedia Commons account

On Science Denial

[edit]

On the previously mentioned forum war on the James Tour talk page i found multiple Intelligent Design or generally conspicuously pro Tour (as in agreeing with his ideas on OOL) and due to this i am making this list of commonly used rhetorical tactics by science denialists

Qualifications

[edit]

A major claim often thrown against science communicators (SC), especially Dave Farina, is that they dont have a PHD or specific qualifications about the topic in question compared to some unrelated degree of their opponents. This can be seen with things like the DI parading around people like Douglas Axe with a degree in chemical engineering, which the normal person would assume qualifies them to speak on this

Recreation in a lab (OOL, Big Bang)

[edit]

This is specifically in response to creationists who demand things like recreating life in a lab, which took 800 million years on the early earth (assuming it took the time between the formation of earth and the first fossils), which is orders of magnitude longer than the entire Homo Genus has existed.
