Michael Dault
[edit]Michael Dault is an American writer, director, producer and actor. Michael was born in the state of Virginia and raised in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. His hometown is Republic, Michigan.
He had a short stint in professional baseball in the Baltimore Orioles organization as a bullpen catcher.
From there he began his media career working for newspapers, television and radio stations. Later, he transitioned into online and print sports journalism[1]. In 2006, he founded his own film and television production company TipToe Productions[2], which he presently owns and operates. This has led to collaborating on award-winning projects and various producing, directing, screenwriting, and acting roles.[3]
The Sons of Summer[4] was Michael's debut novel in 2017, which was originally supposed to be a film[5]. He followed this up with his second novel, Cold Run in 2021[6], both of which take place in Michigan, specifically the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, which Michael bases many of his stories off of. Both of his novels earned him enough money to create his first documentary, Hobby Hustle[7], which explored the good and bad of the sports trading card and memorabilia hobby.
