Hello! I am Mara Chin and Karbi , originally from Assam in Northeast India—a region of breathtaking beauty, rich culture, and diverse communities. My maternal grandmother was a refugee from Myanmar, who later came to Mizoram during the time, when the Mizo National Front and the Mizo Uprising was quite strong. My maternal grandfather was Mara from Mizoram. He was involved in relocating and providing safe passage to several displaced Chin refugees. This is how he met my grandmother, who was Kathe (Meiteis from Myanmar).

On my paternal side, I am Karbi, belonging to the Terang Clan.

The rolling hills, lush forests, and vibrant festivals of my homeland have shaped my identity. I am passionate about bringing the stories of Northeast India to the world, sharing its history, traditions, and the unique cultures of its people. From the spirit of unity in diversity to the natural wonders that define the land, Northeast India holds a special place in my heart.

The Region I call Home

My goal on Wikipedia is to expand and enrich articles that highlight the history, culture, and diverse ethnic groups of Northeast India. I aim to bring attention to influential figures and organizations from the region, while also addressing contemporary issues affecting the area. By ensuring the inclusion of reliable references and detailed, accurate information, I hope to present a well-rounded view of Northeast India. I also seek to collaborate with others who share a passion for promoting the region’s stories, history, and unique identity.

Also I aim to create Wiki articles on eminent personalities from the region, so that little kids from this region can be motivated to be like them growing up. Needless to say I am quite inspired by Rosie_Stephenson-Goodknight User:Rosiestep and I hope to be like her, and bring my region and people to the globe.
