ErickTheMerrick
[edit]Hello, name is Erick and I’m sort of new to Wikipedia. Although I’ve had an account for a couple years, I only started editing around April 2024.
Things I am interested in editing
[edit]I’m interested in editing grammatical errors, errors in capitalization. I’ve also recently been branching out into more complicated edits, like citing sources, adding ideologies/political positions and forms of governments. So far, my proudest work, updating and adding a great amount of information/edits to the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (with a hell of a lot of sources to back it up). Hoping to keep editing here and fix up stuff.

I am a left-leaning person and hold my beliefs close. I am a viewer and supporter (not financially) of the YouTuber and livestreamer Vaush. I’m a progressive and gender fluid. I am also absurdist, a moral anti-realist, and a gender abolitionist. I’m also an agnostic atheist and an anti-theist. I used to be an apolitical anti-SJW type, but I’ve since evolved into the Socialist Progressive I am today. I was briefly (around like half a year), sympathetic to Maoist and more Marxist-Leninist views, though still believing in many Liberal concepts and ideals. I have since rejected have since rejected Maoism and Marxism-Leninism as state capitalist and totalitarian and the liberal beliefs as not going far enough to affect social change and creating an egalitarian society. I also was more of an Anarchist more than today (I still do, just not as an immediate goal. I am a member of Progressive Victory and hope to join the Democratic Socialists of America (Probably the Young DSA first and once I can play the dues).
Long list of People I think are cool and why (Not ranked)
[edit]Political
[edit]- Vaush: I like to watch his content on YouTube and I think he’s pretty good for analysis and entertainment. Agree with most if not almost all of what he says (Not dogmatically, I’ve disagreed with him before).
- Karl Marx: Good theory, kinda stinky (I hear he didn't shower much).
- Peter Kropotkin: Bread Santa! I like a lot of his theory and ideas.
- Bernie Sanders: He should’ve been president and would have if Democrats didn’t steal it from him by all dropping out and endorsing Clinton and Biden.
- Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez: She been a great advocate for the progressive movement. Hope to see her as president one day.
- Tim Walz: “That’s my governor!” -Me seeing that Kamala Harris picked him as her VP pick. Shame they lost but it’s further evidence of the inefficiency and decay of liberalism. Tim Walz himself is very based and I really like him. I get free school lunch now so that’s great! Hoping he becomes a progressive leader of the Democratic Party, seems like he’s on track for it.
- Floyd B. Olson: Probably the best governor Minnesota. His progressive policies were good. Currently reading a biography on him. Shame he died so young.
- Franklin D. Roosevelt: He did a lot of great policies and programs that we need to bring back. Wish he didn't die so soon, could’ve had free healthcare.
- Lyndon B. Johnson: Not on foreign policy. Other than that, he also did great policies and programs.
- Lázaro Cárdenas: I like a lot of his policies and programs, like the nationalization of oil. My dad even tells me he was the best Mexican president we’ve had”.
- Andrés Manuel López Obrador: Also like a lot of what he did, though some sucked, like how Tren Maya was handled.
- Claudia Sheinbaum: Hoping she’s good for México, she seems promising.
- Vladimir Lenin: Only a little as he was authoritarian, but its great that he was able to do a socialist revolution, not that he killed other leftists.
- Josip Broz Tito: He was pretty based actually. His leadership during the Yugoslav resistance (in killing fashies) was great. Again, authoritarian but he was better than Stalin or other Marxist-Leninists. His Socialist self-management is pretty interesting. Shame it failed along with the Yugoslav idea.
Non-political
[edit]- Kurt Cobain: I like Nirvana a lot and they have been my favorite band for around 4 years now.
