Early Life & Education
[edit]Maria Jean dela Torre, also known as Alex dela Torre, is the eldest daughter of Roque and Yolanda dela Torre. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Villaflores College in 2013, and shortly after, she passed the Licensure Examination for Teachers, solidifying her career in education.
Career
[edit]Alex began her professional career in education, teaching at Cabanlutan Elementary School in Bais City from June 2011 to November 2013. After relocating to Dumaguete City in July 2014, she transitioned into the customer service industry. She worked as a Customer Service Representative for Qualfon Dumaguete under the account of Straight Talk Wireless from July 2014 to February 2015.
In April 2015, she joined SPI Global Dumaguete as a customer service representative for Western Union, where she continued until December 2015.
Simultaneously, in May 2015, she ventured into the world of virtual assistance, joining the outsourcing company Global Office Works based in Dumaguete City. In this role, she handled real estate clients based in the United States, most notably working with Thomas Gonzalez, a broker and owner of Bink Realty LLC in Delray Beach, Florida. During her employment with Gonzalez, her tasks included social media management, lead generation, and graphic design.
In August 2018, Alex started a new career as a Loan Success Partner with the Oliver Wei Group. Her additional responsibilities included social media management and graphic design. The Oliver Wei Group transitioned to Oliver Wei Group in 2022 under the brokerage of HomeSmart Evergreen Realty, based in Monrovia, California, USA. Alex is still actively working with the team as a Loan Processor Assistant and Executive Assistant to Oliver Wei.
Personal Life
[edit]Alex has been in two serious relationships. From 2014 to December 24, 2016, she was in a relationship with Rain. After their breakup, Alex began dating again a few months later and made her relationship official with Ara Aquino on September 21, 2017. Alex had hoped Ara would be her life partner. Tragically, their relationship came to an end on October 2, 2024, after Ara passed away following her battle with cancer. Ara was cremated, and her ashes are kept by Alex as a promise. This loss led Alex to remain single thereafter.
Since Ara’s passing, Alex has spent time with her family in Bais City, focusing on working and saving for their dream house. In addition, she has traveled extensively across Asia, cherishing her personal growth and experiences.
