This Is Our Constitution
Egypt is the gift of the Nile to Egyptians, and the gift of Egyptians to humanity.
This is Egypt — an eternal homeland for its people, and a message of peace and love to all nations.
At the dawn of history, the light of human conscience shone and manifested in the hearts of our great ancestors. Their noble will united, founding the first centralized state that regulated and organized the lives of Egyptians along the banks of the Nile. They created the most magnificent expressions of civilization, and their hearts reached toward the heavens long before the world knew the three monotheistic religions.
Egypt is the cradle of faith and the banner of the glory of the divine religions.
On its land, God’s Prophet Moses, peace be upon him, grew up; the divine light was revealed to him, and the message descended upon him at Mount Sinai.
On its land, the Egyptians embraced the Virgin Mary and her infant son, and later offered thousands of martyrs in defense of the Church of Jesus Christ, peace be upon him.
This is Egypt — a homeland we live in, and one that lives within us.
