Trzcinna [ˈtʂt͡ɕinna] (German: Schöneberg) is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Nowogródek Pomorski, within Myślibórz County, West Pomeranian Voivodeship, in north-western Poland.[1] It lies approximately 4 km (2 mi) south of Nowogródek Pomorski, 12 km (7 mi) south-east of Myślibórz, and 66 km (41 mi) south-east of the regional capital Szczecin.

History
[edit]Trzcinna, formerly known as Schöneberg, was home to a small Jewish community prior to World War II. This community was part of the broader Jewish population in the Pomeranian region, where Jews played a significant role in Jews commerce and culture. During the war, the Jewish population of Trzcinna, like many others in the area, was severely affected by the Holocaust, with many being displaced or deported.
After the war, the village became part of Poland due to the border changes established by the Potsdam Agreement, leading to a significant shift in the village’s demographic composition. Following these changes, the Jewish community largely ceased to exist, and the village became predominantly Polish, carrying with it a complex history that reflects the broader social and political transformations of the 20th century.[2]
