Thapaswini Poonacha is an Indian actress born in Virajpet, Kodagu. Her name is also spelled Tapaswini.[1] She is known for her roles in the Kannada films Hari Kathe Alla Giri Kathe (2022) and Gajarama (2025).
Career
[edit]Thapaswini made her acting debut in 2022 with the Kannada film Hari Kathe Alla Giri Kathe,[2] where she starred opposite Rishab Shetty.[3] A mixed review of the film in Cinema Express found that "Thapaswini’s role [was] the soul of the film, and it also aid[ed] in bringing out the romantic side of Giri [the character played by Shetty]".[4]
Her second film[5], Gajarama was released on 7 February 2025; Thapaswini played the character of Anjali, the female lead role.[6][7][8]
In 2025 Thapaswini stated that she had signed two more projects: Mr. Jack with actor Guru Nandan and Rukmini Vasantha with actor Shree Mahadev and also that she was focusing on her coffee brewery business.[9]
