Rename

Since the Wikipedia article for this country is name East Timor, this template should be renamed Template:Country data East Timor and this template made a redirect. GregManninLB (talk) 18:07, 4 April 2008 (UTC) {{editprotected}}

 Declined That's how the template already works. If you use {{flag|East Timor}}, you get East Timor. If you use {{flag|Timor-Leste}}, you get Timor-Leste. Note that in both cases, the target wikilink is East Timor. There is no problem here. — Andrwsc (talk · contribs) 19:19, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

But if you use {{flagcountry|East Timor}}, you get Timor-Leste and if you use {{flagcountry|Timor-Leste}}, you get Timor-Leste. If these uses have to default to one, should it not be to the name actually used by the article? Or can {{flagcountry|East Timor}} be changed to produce East Timor? That would be ideal, I suppose. Official longname
