Edit request for Manitoba parties
[edit]There have been some changes to Manitoba's parties compared to the current templates. The Manitoba First Party, which uses purple, (#5E419B ) was previously called the Manitoba Party, and is now defunct. The Manitoba Forward Party, which is represented with Forest Green (#22824F ) has changed its name to the Manitoba Party, and a new party has emerged called the Keystone Party, which also uses purple. The party colour template for "Manitoba Party" still uses the Manitoba First colour, and there isn't one for Keystone. We could use a second party colour under the name "Manitoba" using the Manitoba Forward colour, and a new one for the Keystone Party. Refer to List of political parties in Manitoba to see.

- I believe you can edit Wikipedia:WikiProject Political parties and politicians in Canada/list of parties#New Brunswick parties yourself. ~ Tom.Reding (talk ⋅dgaf) 12:37, 13 October 2024 (UTC)
- I don't think that does anything, but I went ahead and edited the template and it works now. -- Earl Andrew - talk 13:07, 13 October 2024 (UTC)

We should probably update the Green Party of Canada federal party color to reflect their rebranding today. I believe the new hex-code is #24a348, based off their website and that of the design agency which led the re-design, but haven't yet been able to find their updated media guide. Also would want to create a new value with the previous color hex code (#99C955), for green candidates in previous elections that would be CA|Green (historical) similar to CA|Conservative (historical).

- The reason we have both "Conservative" and "Conservative (historical)" in the template isn't to preserve different colour branding, it's because the Conservative Party that exists today is a separate from the Conservative Party that existed in the past (this is not me re-litigating the old merger fight from 2003 — I'm talking about legal incorporation and registration). The Green Party from two days ago is the one that still exists, it's not something we talk about in the past tense.
- I also don't think it's necessary to change their shade of green. The shade we have in the template didn't match their old logo, either. Indeed, we generally adjust party colours in our templates (cf the official branding) to be less saturated — none of the major federal parties use the exact shade from their logos. I think this is a feature and not a bug, both because it can better suit use on Wikipedia (the less saturated colours make tables and graphics easier on the eyes) and because it means we don't need to change things around for every rebranding… — Kawnhr (talk) 17:15, 19 February 2025 (UTC)

Change BC United so that it creates the BC United text instead of United. The party is rarely refered to as just "United" in British Columbian media, similar to the Saskatchewan United Party. I think the edit would look something like this: |BC United|United|BCU=[[BC United]]
instead of this |United|BCU=[[BC United|United]]
