Template:Uw-displaytitle/doc

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Usage

[edit]
  • {{subst:Uw-displaytitle}}
  • {{subst:Uw-displaytitle|Actual page title}} references a specific actual page title
  • {{subst:Uw-displaytitle|Actual page title|Additional text}} adds text onto the end of the message instead of "Thank you"
  • {{subst:Uw-displaytitle||Additional text}} or {{subst:Uw-displaytitle|2=Additional text}} also adds text onto the end of the message instead of "Thank you", but doesn't link a page as specified by the actual page title.
  • {{subst:Uw-displaytitle|Actual page title|to=Attempted display title}} adds the attempted display title using the to parameter.
  • {{subst:Uw-displaytitle|Actual page title|to=Attempted display title|Additional text}} includes both the original page title and attempted display title as well as additional text.

Please remember to substitute the template using {{subst:Uw-displaytitle}} rather than {{Uw-displaytitle}}.

To give greater detail to your message, you may add the actual page title and some additional text to the end of the template. If such actual page title or additional text includes a URL or anything which includes an equal sign ("="), it may break the parser's function unless you prefix the actual page title or the text with a named template parameter. Use 1= if the actual page title contains an equals sign and use 2= if the additional text contains an equals sign (such as a URL).
