Usage

These are the ways to currently use this template

Use the base template. Same as using the header plus a closing |} so there are no vte links
Use the header template with a |} to close the table. Deprecated. All transclusions in article and user space have been converted to the above.
Use header paired with footer. Together they open and close a wikitable (between {| and |} ). Deprecated. The only transclusions remaining are in subpages of the main template
- {{Infobox periodic table group/header}} -- intended to supply most of the data
- {{Infobox periodic table group/footer}} -- intended to supply the footer (with vte links) and the closing |}. No transclusions except in template space
