The Ariston Theatre (Italian: Teatro Ariston) is a theatre[1] and a cinema in Sanremo, Italy.[2] It has been the venue of the annual Sanremo Music Festival competitions since 1977. The name is derived from Ancient Greek ἄριστον meaning "the best". It was designed between 1943 and 1953 by architects Marco Lavarello and Dante Datta, along with engineers Franco Ravera, Angelo Frisa, and Gino Sacerdote.[3]
