Ideology
[edit]This page has become somewhat of a meme on the internet, so it's worth keeping a careful eye on things. I think the current set of ideologies listed in the infobox — "Anti-Chinese Racism" and "Populism" — are both accurate, and maybe someone could delicately work in some sort of reference to its labor politics, but beware of people using inaccurate and anachronistic terms here. Garnet Moss (talk) 22:51, 13 March 2025 (UTC)
- A "position" section was added to the infobox, calling the party economically "far-left" and socially "far-right." While this can certainly be argued, I think it's probably overdetermining, and in any case isn't actually substantiated by the attached source. I've marked it dubious for now, but would be in favor of removing this section. Garnet Moss (talk) 05:12, 21 March 2025 (UTC)
- @Garnet Moss I removed the social position- now it just says "left-wing" as the source mentions, but I do think that it does undercut the white supremacist tones of the rest of the party. Do you think it should just stay as "left-wing?" HadesTTW (he/him • talk) 14:54, 21 March 2025 (UTC)
- Personally, I'd just take the "Position" section out altogether. It was a racially-concerned workers populist movement, the exact sort of thing that people like to squabble about being "left" or "right" wing, but really is just poorly-described by the left/right dichotomy in general. I think it's more confusing than simply stating what they believed. My 2c. Garnet Moss (talk) 19:53, 22 March 2025 (UTC)
