Son John?
[edit]I have been doing some research and have had come up that he had a son called John born 1560 in Lancashire. And died in the same area on13th December 1619 John’s mother was Margaret Gamage on the source but I cannot see his name in the list of children. just wondering if anyone can shed any light on it? Wrong daughter Frances Howard connected to wrong husband?
[edit]While I am not an expert in these family groups, I am an amateur genealogist and it appears this article incorrectly says William Howard of Effingham’s daughter married Seymour Earl of Hertford.
In fact, the Earl of Hertford’s father-in-law was this man: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_Howard,_1st_Viscount_Howard_of_Bindon
Note that presently the profiles of both Thomas Howard of Bindon, son of the 3rd Duke of Norfolk (uncle of Anne Boleyn and Catherine Howard during the reign of Henry VIII), and this William Howard of Effingham, son of Thomas Howard the 2nd Duke of Norfolk (father of the 3rd Duke) BOTH have Wikipedia profiles saying their daughters Frances married the same man. And link to the same Seymour’s profile. Which is false.
Everything about this article and the families and chronology should probably be re peer reviewed to detect and correct any errors created due to the above, or vice versa. The confusion could cause pervasive linking problems. It’s surprising this wasn’t discovered by Wikipedia editors. The error appears to be affecting other websites that link here to these articles about these people. 2600:4040:5AEF:B400:C8ED:B5CF:97F0:A9ED (talk) 18:34, 17 December 2023 (UTC)
