Talk:Volcanology of New Zealand/to do
Appearance
The following changes would probably improve the article.
- Fill in some of the remaining volcanic areas:
- Restructure the volcanic areas list to be better reflect the chronology and causes of volcanism
- Explain broader context where helpful
- Explain more about how changes in the plate boundary over the the last 25 million years have affected things
- Explain effects of recent rifting in the TVZ and perhaps the Hauraki Rift
- Expand on some of the more important areas. The TVZ especially deserves more space.
- Add a section summarising historic activity. This just gets scattered mentions at present.
- Add better maps: e.g.
- showing all the volcanic areas < 40 Ma
- showing the extent of ignimbrite in the central North Island
- illustrating the pattern of volcanism over the last 25 million years, at least in the central and northern North Island (an animation would be nice)
- Find and add more images (or better ones), as space permits
