Comparison between versions

[edit]

can we get a comparison between versions in a table or something like that. Thank you.--2001:569:72B8:8400:E1FB:FFD0:8E0E:D693 (talk) 02:53, 14 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Potential confusion with Unix File System?

[edit]

People could potentially come across the UFS filesystem, try searching for 'ufs', find this page, and mistake it to be about the filesystem. (I did.)

Would a "not to be confused with" template of some sort be helpful. If so, what would be the best template, or the best way of phrasing that?

The best I can think of would be something like: "This article is about the flash storage interface specification. For the filesystem with the same initials, see Unix File System".

This is a real issue. People are confusing the two initialisms and not realizing there are two rather distinct technical things with the initials "UFS" (got a report elsewhere). 207.172.210.101 (talk) 06:38, 12 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Done. It sounds like you want the {{Distinguish}} template, so I added it as a WP:Hatnote. --DavidCary (talk) 21:19, 18 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Time to start placing more emphasis on history

[edit]

Unless the Nintendo Switch 2 crashes soon, UFS Card will be stillborn. The Nintendo Switch 2 is pushing usage of MicroSD-express so heavily you'll soon see the cards everywhere. Once MicroSD-express has economy of scale, those producers will then aim to create an embedded version of NVMe (trying to gain yet further market share). Once that shows up UFS will be in trouble. I think it is time to start writing an epitaph, though we'll have to wait 5 years before adding it to the article. 2001:470:8AC4:103:56A7:7DB:3167:F954 (talk) 04:16, 12 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
