From my understanding at least one origin of the myth of Conomer and Tryphine is recorded in the Life of Gildas/Vita Gildas by an unnamed monk of Rhuys. The fact that this text is not mentioned seems like a hole in the article here, but I'm completely new to Wikipedia, (and in fact only created an account because I've been going down a rabbit hole about this story for a while now, and I was curious about what information could be added to this article) so I am not sure if I have the authority to edit this into the page.
