Point of View
[edit]The title does not strike me as neutral. Much of the content also strikes me similarly. Pete unseth (talk) 23:39, 21 March 2021 (UTC)
- Bailouts paid to farmers during Trump 1. Whatcha wanna call it? "Socialism given to farmers who voted for a guy who screwed them over?" 71.226.126.80 (talk) 23:54, 14 November 2024 (UTC)
"History"
[edit]This paragraph lacks any connection to farm bailouts due to Trump policies. It's related facts but why not link to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wheat or https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soybean or https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peanut_butter. 71.226.126.80 (talk) 23:53, 14 November 2024 (UTC)
Introduction: "$16bn increased to $16bn"
[edit]The last two sentences of the Introduction section are confusing.
- In 2018 [the] Trump administration introduced $16 billion (~$19.1 billion in 2023) of new trade aid. In 2019, the Donald Trump administration increased the bailout to $16 billion (~$18.8 billion in 2023).
Does this mean it was $16bn in 2018 and then $32bn in 2019? Sources 9 and 11 are also identical. The first sentence uses 9 and 10 as a source. 9 does not say anything about 2018, as far as I can tell, and 10 is behind a paywall.
My suggestion is to just remove the sentence about 2018. It would also be good to explain what "trade aid" means in this context, and how it is different from a bailout. --Kaimast (talk) 03:19, 10 February 2025 (UTC)
