Note: Though it states in the Guide to writing better articles that generally fictional articles should be written in present tense, all Tolkien legendarium-related articles that cover in-universe material before the current action must be written in past tense. Please see Wikipedia:WikiProject Middle-earth/Standards for more information about this and other article standards.

In the paragraph on "Moral decline through racial mixing" the quote of Treebeard is given. But the quote itself describes advantage of racial mixing rather than disadvantage: orcs gain ability to resist harmful effects of the Sun. It might be bad from the point of view of the speaker, but the benefit is obvious. Besides, who said that author agrees with every single being in their books? Many thanks for your thoughts. Obviously from the enemy's point of view, something "black evil" but useful for their cause would be seen as physically beneficial; that does not contradict Treebeard's statement that it is a moral wrong. The article neither assumes nor states that Tolkien endorses Treebeard's statement: instead, the quotation is explicitly introduced as belonging to that character. Readers are left informed and free to make up their own minds. All the best, Chiswick Chap (talk) 07:52, 27 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
