The planet is now in worse condition than 20 years ago, so I guess the book is now more relevant and important than it was back then.

"Truth" in this case is, IMO, relative. Neutrality, however... I agree with the statement in question. However, I find it - especially its lack of direct (or even tacit) acknowledgement of extant, opposing (and/or uninterested) viewpoints - to be a bit too subjective in scope and conclusion to be appropriate for this situation.
