Hey, well done for another amazing article! It is very well-written and sourced. I cannot see any major issues and earwig shows no issues. Here are my comments:

1.) Like the other articles, please can you clarify the "defending", "favourites" and the "were also in contention" in the lead?

Fixed. Hopefully I'll get time to fix this in all the articles at some point, but I am preoccupied with like 10 GA reviews right now haha

2.) I have made some minor changes, please do change if unhelpful.

Thank you

3.) "South Africa's most decorated Olympic swimmer" - can this please be clarified?

Changed slightly to a fact that is easier to explain: "which tied her for the most medals won by a South African swimmer with Chad le Clos".

4.) "was the defending Olympic champion in the event" and "The US' Lilly King was the defending Olympic silver medallist" - Can you please clarify?

Fixed with the first point

5.) Is there a way that you can clarify that the two publications both predicted Schouten would come third (in case readers think "both" refers to Douglass and Smith)

Fixed, good point: "Both SwimSwam and Swimming World predicted Schouten would come third."

6.) Is it worth noting that Vall is 35? I do not have a problem with it being included, I was just surprised as the other swimmers do not have their ages listed.

35 is exceptionally old to be competing at the Olympic level in swimming. I could make this clearer, but I think it would take up a lot of space. What do you think?

7.) "at the 150 metre split she had extended her lead to 0.19 seconds" - can this please be clarified?

Changed to "and 150 metres into the race she was 0.19 seconds ahead".

8.) "the win gave her her first individual Olympic medal" - Can this please be clarified?

Changed to: ", winning her her first individual Olympic medal". Do you think this is clearer?

9.) What does "most decorated" mean?

Changed during point 3

10.) For source #20, may it be worth including the page numbers to help readers locate the results?

I didn't do this because there are no page numbers in the source, and it's relatively easy to find the correct part because the events are listed in order and clearly titled.

Spotchecked Sources #5, #6, #13 and #19. When the above have been addressed I will pass it. Please let me know if you have any questions! DaniloDaysOfOurLives (talk) 05:46, 4 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@DaniloDaysOfOurLives, thank you again! for reviewing. I addressed the points above. I should hopefully get to continuing your review later today, but I may not get time as I have a few other high maintenance reviews to do. IAWW (talk) 07:39, 4 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Lead trimmed to align with MOS:LEDE and encyclopedic focus

[edit]

I have trimmed the part in lede that talks about the requirements of the race - (That women need to do 4 laps). This is an event specific event and summary should be focused not on rules but on the most noteworthy outcome of the race per MOS:LEDE. See past discussion that gone thru this: Talk:Swimming at the 2024 Summer Olympics – Women's 100 metre freestyle#top. Supporting rationale: User:IP49XX/Why MOS Matters.
