Hey! I will be reviewing this too! As usual well done - this is a great article with no big concerns and no copyright violations on earwig. I only have the following comments to help readers:
1.) Could you please clarify "were the favourites going into the event"? No worries if not
2.) Background - "was the defending Olympic champion" - What does this mean?
3.) Background - "had swum faster since" - Can this be expanded upon (e.g. where/when did she swim faster)? No big deal if not
4.) If you could do the same thing with "heats" as the other GAs that would really help the article :)
5.) Semifinals - "Masse and Smith also qualified" - Can this be expanded upon slightly perhaps?
6.) Final - "McKeown's Olympic record beat Missy Franklin's" - I think it would help if you added which country Franklin had represented, though if you do not think so then no worries :)
Once these have been addressed I will do a source spotcheck and pass the article :) DaniloDaysOfOurLives (talk) 04:36, 16 April 2025 (UTC)
- Hello again @DaniloDaysOfOurLives, once again thank you for the review! I made the following changes:
- 1) Changed to "favourites to win the event" – What do you think?
- 2) Changed to "was the winner at the previous Olympics". This is something I might need to change in all the articles in this topic.
- 3) Added the competition she swam it at
- 4) Yes, I plan to do this sometime in the next few days, along with some other improvements I need to make to all the ones in the topic. I get so bored doing minor changes to every article aha
- 5) Expanded to make "Masse and Smith also qualified in fifth and sixth, respectively".
- 6) Added IAWW (talk) 15:36, 16 April 2025 (UTC)
- @It is a wonderful world: Thank you so much for your changes! I am satisfied with them. Regarding #2 and #4, I empathise that it is tedious making minor changes to every page! I have Spotchecked sources #4, #13, #10 and #16. I think that Source #10 is a mistake as it is talking about the men's race... Could you please fix this and quickly check that all the other sources are correct too? DaniloDaysOfOurLives (talk) 18:09, 16 April 2025 (UTC)
- Yes it was an error. I forgot to replace that citation when I copied that text from the other article. Good catch, fixed now. I believe all the other sources should be correct. IAWW (talk) 18:31, 16 April 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you! I am hence passing the article... Well done! :) DaniloDaysOfOurLives (talk) 18:33, 16 April 2025 (UTC)

Lead trimmed to align with MOS:LEDE and encyclopedic focus
[edit]Prevously article mentioned lap count and pool length, despite you only need to mention discipline and distance and that's sufficient enough to know what the race is. I trimmed the excessive filler details from lead per MOS:LEDE to better summarize key points. Similar issue was already raised earlier with a resolution formed: resolved talk on MOS. See also User:IP49XX/Why MOS Matters for a thorough explanation. IP49XX (talk) 05:29, 13 May 2025 (UTC)
