Linking the term studio album in the lead is not a violation of the over-linking policy; if it were, then anything that does repeat from {{Infobox album}} in the lead would not link, as well. MOS:REPEATLINK even states: Other mentions may be linked if helpful, such as in infoboxes, tables, image captions, footnotes, and hatnotes. MOS:CONTEXTLINK also states: The first sentence should provide links to the broader or more elementary topics that are important to the article's topic or place it into the context where it is notable. And while other stuff does exist, several album-related good articles (i.e., Abbey Road, The Beatles) do include the linking. livelikemusic (TALK!) 15:20, 1 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Studio album link is actually not needed in this article, also it is not even crucial word. There's no reason to put a wikilink on it. Per MOS:LEADLINK, Too many links can make the lead hard to read.
+ Not going to consider other articles as one of the reasons for this, per WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS. Camilasdandelions (talk!) 16:13, 1 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
The linking of studio album and believing it makes the lead hard to read is subjective, especially in comparison to the other two-linked manual of styles. Again, linking in a table does not equate to not linking in the lead; if that were the case, Cyrus' name should not be linked, as it is linked not once but twice in the infobox template. Also, changing the article's linking right now, while discussion is ongoing, is in violation of WP:STONEWALL and is considered WP:DISRUPTIVE—until discussion is finished, or more become involved, it should not be changed—especially per WP:BRD. And I already noted that other stuff exists. livelikemusic (TALK!) 16:22, 1 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Again too, as 'studio album' term isn't regarded as necessary in lead section, no reason to put wikilink on it. Also even you already noted that other stuff exists, it doesn't mean this can be accepted. Moreover, I didn't know that discussion was already opened before. Then, by that argument, there's no reason to wiki-link to lead single, as it's not a necessary link nor does it provide notable context to the article or its lead, whereas linking to studio album would (considering this is an album article). But to use the argument of it being linked in the album infobox would also deem Cyrus' name, record label, any of the released singles, producers, last-released release would also not be linked (again) per your argument, would it not? livelikemusic (TALK!) 16:51, 1 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
They are the proper nouns. So it is meaningful to put wikilinks on them. Also, I would opposite to wikilink on single, but not on lead single. Camilasdandelions (talk!) 21:41, 1 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
