Since there is a penalty shootout in this year's charity match, are we counting goals scored during the shootout? Joe Weller is currently listed with four goals, three of the goals are scored during normal time, and one during penalty shootout. Should we include the other penalty shootout goal scorers, or is that not how it's supposed to be recorded? Http iosue (talk) 16:54, 10 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
No. Penalty shootout goals should not be counted; they are universally not counted towards goalscoring tallies in football. I'll check through the goal tally now, as it has been vandalised several times over the past few days and it's been hard to keep track. MB243717:05, 10 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Would like to get consensus here over Lachlan's "goal" in the 2025 edition, as it has been added several times in good faith.[1][2][3] FOTMOB classified it as an xQc own goal, but have also commended Speed with an assist and Lachlan with a goal next to their icons.[4] It seems this was done to boost their ratings, as this is only a friendly match. As it has been clearly given as an own goal at the top of the report, the goal should not count towards Lachlan's tally. MB243717:55, 10 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
The official stats report on sidemen's social media, which was posted 20+ hours after the match ended, listed it as an own goal by xqc here : [5]
Based on that, i think it should be listed as an own goal by xqc. I assumed the fotmob admin initially put it as lachlan, then later changed it to an own goal by xqc, and then forgot to removed the stats from lachlan's. Http iosue (talk) 20:16, 10 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Not that it's particularly admissible here, given we use reliable, secondary sources, but this video clearly shows it was in fact an own goal and that Lachlan being awarded it was erroneous and corrected accordingly. MB243721:30, 10 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
