Number of dead from sinking

In this article I found that "23 crew members died in the event." In the article on HMS Garry (1905), the version is "UB-110 sank with the loss of 13 dead and an unknown number of survivors." Officially the vessel's complement is given as 3 officers and up to 31 men (max. total 34). Lightoller states in his eyewitness account (chapter 44 of Titanic and Other Ships that 15 survivors were picked up out of the water. Ships hit by UB-110

This and that.

German submarines were prefixed SMU (Seiner Majestät Unterseeboot), the German for "His Majesty's Submarine," from 1903 to 1919. So, for example, 110 was SMU 110. The SM prefix was not used during WWII, since German warships were not His Majesty's.

We have to bear in mind that Furbringer's claims about the "massacre" are a single source, so we must make it clear that his allegations are just that. Which raises the question of whether one can be a survivor of an alleged massacre. If it's only alleged, aren't (alleged) survivors "alleged survivors" (of the "alleged massacre")? Blog on the incident

Not a reliable source, but I found this blog article interesting (casting doubt on the narrative here with reference to period sources).
