Talk:Roman Catholic Diocese of Orléans

[edit]This article has been reduced excessively in scope . Much information provided in earlier revisions (accessible via the history file) has been omitted. The history of this diocese does not begin with Theodulf but in Gallo-Roman times. There is also very little on the twentieth century----Clive Sweeting
- Actually I think the material has mostly been re-ordered from where it was before. Charles Matthews (talk) 13:58, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
Section on SAINTS
[edit]- The entire section, which is just a list, is unreferenced.
- No context is given for the entries.
- Being born in the diocese does not necessarily mean the birth is important to the diocese or its history.
- Some of these people are saints only in the sense we find in such expressions as "My mother, she's a saint." "Santo Padre" (the Holy Father, the pope). Our saintly pastor.
- That a "Saint" is the title of a church or chapel does not indicate a connection with the diocese. In the case of my own city, there is a "Church of Saint Cyril of Alexandria'; Cyril was never in my country or city; anybody I ask at church cannot provide any fragment of knowledge about the "Saint"; he has no impact on the city or the diocese.
- I hesitate to point that there is a POV Catholic element in the list, without making it clear.
