Lead

 Passed

Per WP:LEADCITE, the lead section should avoid using citations or notes, if the article is not controversial. I don't see that being the case here.

Per MOS:LEADLENGTH, the lead is too lengthy. As the article isn't long, I think the lead can fit into 200 words. Right now, there are 434 words, more than recommended.

Per MOS:FIRST, the first sentence should be phrased differently, so that a nonspecialist reader might be introduced to the topic. My suggestion is: The Protecting Americans from Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act (PAFACA), signed into law on April 24, 2024, as part of Public Law 118-50, bans social networking services within 270 days if determined by the president and relevant provisions to be a "foreign adversary controlled application," with a potential 90-day extension, encompassing websites and application software, including mobile apps" or "The Protecting Americans from Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act (PAFACA), signed into law on April 24, 2024, bans social networking services within 270 days if the president deems them a "foreign adversary controlled application," with a possible 90-day extension, covering websites and apps" to keep it simple. --Governor Sheng (talk) 17:46, 15 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Governor Sheng: got it down to around 270 words. Questions? four Olliefant (she/her) 03:44, 20 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Background

 Passed

The section doesn't have any references. Also, I recommend using just China for the PRC and avoiding linking to it per MOS:OL. --Governor Sheng (talk) 17:51, 15 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

National security concerns

 Passed

Link to the PRC is unnecessary, also using common name – China – is preferable.

BytDance should have been linked when mentioned for the first time in the chapter above.

"Cybersecurity studies have shown that TikTok collects less data, more data, or as much data as its competitors." - Can the nominator explain this sentence a bit? --Governor Sheng (talk) 15:50, 16 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
