I propose that Legality of prostitution in South America be merged into Legality of prostitution in North America and then be renamed Legality of prostitution in the Americas. It makes more sense to keep the content together since we generally refer to North America and South America as general areas on a single continent. Doesn't make sense to break up the Americas like this. There also isn't that much information on each page when compared to the pages of Europe or Asia. The first map showing North America and the prostitution status in colors is misleading because it shows Nevada as a state where prostitution is legal, when in actuality prostitution there is illegal except in very few designated spots. Thinker78 (talk) 18:16, 6 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Thinker78:Agree the map is misleading. Prostitution is legal in 9 of the 16 counties (or 17 if you include Carson City which is an independent city). Problem is what to do about it? Changing Nevada to 'illegal' on the map would be even more misleading in my opinion. John B123 (talk) 18:34, 6 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
The map already has a color stating the Nevada issue. I don't know why there was a specific color for the Nevada issue and Nevada wasn't painted with that color. Thinker78 (talk) 05:27, 7 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I hadn't noticed that, on the rest of the prostitution legality maps that colour is simply 'illegal'. A similar situation exists in Mexico, prostitution is only legal in 13 of the 31 states. Perhaps we need another colour/legend to cover Nevada and Mexico? John B123 (talk) 08:43, 7 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
