Prerna Singh's notability

[edit]

Wikipedia's official guideline on the notability of academics states that "academics meeting any one of the following conditions (...) are notable: 1. The person's research has had a signficiant impact in their scholarly discipline, broadly construed, as demonstrated by independent reliable sources. 2. The person has received a highly prestigious academic award or honor at the national or international level" (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Notability_(academics)).

Prerna Singh meets both conditions: This is evidenced by the major academic prizes awarded by the American Political Science Association and the American Sociological Association, among others. Moreover, Singh's work on welfare, development and what she conceives of as "subnationalism" has had a significant impact on the field of comparative politics, as demonstrated by a range of reviews in established academic journals.
