History of awards

We should create a section about the history of the awards. Is it still true that all were created at the stroke of midnight on 1 July 1997? Even if so, some discussion about the reasoning and background, and processes would be useful. Should KBE and GBE be added?

I am unfamiliar with the topic. But since CBE and MBE are included, shouldn't KBE also be added? For example, Jack Cater is knighted (KBE). Labratscientist (talk) 08:59, 17 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
