Ownership behavior

[edit]

Editor Chiswick Chap, who has written over 65% of this article, appears to be displaying ownership behavior over it.

He reverted the list I added of 12 typical Portuguese seasonings: "salt and pepper, bay leaves, cinnamon, cloves, cumin, curry powder, garlic, mint, oregano, red chili peppers, and saffron" with this edit he made yesterday.

Yet he himself added, with this edit, most oddly, given his edit summary: "...we don't want this to be a list either, so best without", a list of 16 ingredients in the variations of one dish alone, Veneto risotto:

"fish and white wine; chicken; eel; mushrooms and grated Parmesan cheese; quails; small pieces of beef; courgettes; clams; ragù; beans; mussels; prawns; cuttlefish; and asparagus", which is a longer list than the 12 I added for common seasonings of all of Portuguese cuisine.

So why the discrepancy? Chiswick Chap seems to apply different standards to what he writes as opposed to what others write. Carlstak (talk) 14:55, 2 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Please be civil. I agree that the Veneto risotto list is excessive, not sure what I was thinking there. Will tweak it now. Chiswick Chap (talk) 15:13, 2 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
There was nothing at all uncivil about what I wrote. Carlstak (talk) 15:40, 2 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Possibly that's not for you to judge ... but I certainly found the first paragraph unnecessary. Anyway, water under the bridge. Chiswick Chap (talk) 07:51, 3 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
That's you. Carlstak (talk) 14:33, 3 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I mean that for a small edit to a list, you directed your attention to the person of the editor, not to the edit, and that in itself might be considered inappropriate, to be clear about it, since you don't appear to have taken my meaning. Chiswick Chap (talk) 15:03, 3 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Like you said, "water under the bridge". Carlstak (talk) 15:27, 3 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
