Mangal ShobhajatraAnanda Shobhajatra – It is the official name currently. Almost all media already have started using this name. Ananda Shobhajatra had been the official name once previously, so it's NOT uncommon. I would support moving it to the official name. Ahammed Saad (talk) 08:06, 12 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The name for this year is temporary; it is not a permanent change. This is rather a attempt to gain political motivated diversion by biased individuals at the Government 82.10.92.47 (talk) 08:39, 14 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I went to the festival today, and even the general people and organizers, all are referring it as Ananda Shobhajatra. AimanAbir18plus (talk) 09:04, 14 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
It's wrong. Public has already started to use the new name, as well as the media. Even if it's politically motivated (which is actually alleged by only a small portion of leftist & liberals), it has already become permanent cause most of the parties, including Bangladesh Nationalist Party, have expressed support for it. So, there is very little change for name change in near future. Ahammed Saad (talk) 11:20, 14 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose Due to the political upheaval, the interim Govt. are altering many festivities and organizations' names, as well as logos of institutions such the BD police logo and whatnot. And regarding this event, the name change is not permanent, and still the common name is Mangal Shobajatra. Also UNESCO recognized it under this name. X (talk) 09:46, 14 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah you are right, but it's not possible unless AL comes to power or High Court orders to revert the previous names. Both general people & existing major parties who are expected form government, like BNP or NCP, have expressed their support for the new name Ananda Shobhajatra. So, it seems unlikely that the name change would be reverted in near future. And it applies for most of the renamed places, as Bangladeshi history says till now. • Oppose- per COMMONNAME, too early per NAMECHANGES, would be a CRYSTALBALL. Independent RS in english language needed, sources like of AP, Reuters, NYT, BBC will be great that too when it's in repetitive use, since the topic is an Intangible Cultural Heritage of UNESCO, whose sole purpose is to safegaurd its identity, value and tradition which here can be seen as diminishing. (Kindly don't ping with comment, I will not respond to any such comment, this is not a discussion page, rather of consensus.)Drat8sub (talk) 11:13, 16 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
