This is the only source left to incorporate into the article, though I am still debating how much to include. Could be as simple as adding an external link or incorporating a lot of the content. ---Another Believer (Talk) 18:08, 24 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Do any other page watchers care to weigh in here? I am feeling a little exhausted and indecisive at the moment. Once this last source is incorporated, I will request a copy edit from the Guild of Copy Editors then eventually nominate the article for Good status. This has been a fun article to work on and I appreciate the help others have contributed! ---Another Believer (Talk) 18:16, 24 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Update: I have not finished incorporating the above two sources into the article, but I've gone ahead and nominated it for Good status because I still believe it easily meets GA criteria. I still plan to add the last two sources before nominating the article for featured status. ---Another Believer (Talk) 23:11, 25 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Back to the art and artist

[edit]

Now that we have the ramp thing mostly sorted... Using the "squint at the image with my bifocals on method" of research, I posed this question over at WT:ORE: "Question--is the original artwork under the photo reconstructions, and what are the photo reconstructions printed on? Steel? Vinyl sticker on steel?" (Although this shows that the surface is highly reflective, so maybe it's another material) To me it looks like printed (enamel? decal?) steel bolted into a steel covering, and that the steel panels cover the actual artwork. Googling did not yield much on the minutiae of the restoration. Also, there's not a lot of info (again with the Google) on Mr. Stefopoulos but I added his birth and death dates. If more info can be found we should definitely counteract the FUTON bias by including it here. Valfontis (talk) 23:10, 8 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I have not read the links I posted above yet, but hopefully one or more of them address the restoration process. Also, I am surprised that I cannot find a RACC link for the columns. It must not be an installation they administer. ---Another Believer (Talk) 23:12, 8 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Speaking of the artist, I am not sure if anything needs to be done here, but I noticed "Athanasios Stefopoulos" redirects to Thanassis Stephopoulos, who is also a Greek artist. Might be confusing to someone who uses Tom's real name. --Another Believer (Talk) 15:45, 24 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you! ---Another Believer (Talk) 17:39, 24 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Wow, there are some great photographs of the columns. Check out the feasibility study, the bike tour booklet by the NW District Association, etc. I'll do another check at Flickr, but it would be great if we could find a couple free images to add to the article and show the artwork in more detail. I am still trying to figure out exactly how the murals were restored, what materials were used, the process, etc., but I haven't found sources going into detail, so it might remain vague, unfortunately... ---Another Believer (Talk) 18:13, 24 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
