list needs pruning down

May as well raise this up for this list to prevent this becoming a list dump like List of driver deaths in motorsport

what I criticize about this list now adding in motorsport has opened a tin of worms because we may include the number of race marshals who lost their lives, especially at F1, Indycar (2) and numerous high profiles events?

My suggestion is to restrict entries to both ...

those who died at their job. Suicide can be included it was directly linked to their work.
those with Wikipedia articles or interwiki articles.

yeah it was brought up to me when i first made the list a few months ago, i was less in tune with list dumping then and my intent was to just make as close to an all-inclusive list as possible.

i might just limit it to professional sports and notable incidents. if i restrict it to solely deaths as a result of in-game/match incidents than it leaves out most people. — Pyropylon98 (talk • contribs) 14:42, 1 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
