List of formerly open-source or free software → List of previously open-source or free software – The opposite of formal is informal and so "formerly" seems wrong to a non-native speaker of English. "Previously" more clearly indicates a timeline — GhostInTheMachine talk to me 17:07, 8 April 2025 (UTC)

- Oppose. Are you really suggesting that we remove the word "formerly" on the off-chance that someone might confuse it with "formally"? Zacwill (talk) 12:02, 9 April 2025 (UTC)
- Comment formerly and formally are different words. formerly is a synonym of previously. cookie monster 755 14:36, 13 April 2025 (UTC)
