Adult population of North America << Canada + US + Mexico

[edit]

Ok, the double '<' is maybe a little dramatic. But my point is it's *noticeably* less. Not just a little.

I don't know the real numbers, so I am abstaining from making the edit; just wanted to call attention to this DiceMaster1018 (talk) 05:53, 25 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

See the reference. "See the end of table 4-1 on page 138 for regional numbers. Use page numbers at bottom of pages, not from PDF reader."
Northern America is what the reference is referring to. You can tell by adding up the adult populations of the US and Canada. Plus the other nations in the map on that page. --Timeshifter (talk) 07:29, 25 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Some updates without a reference

[edit]

@Steviedman: See diff.

I reverted it. I don't see a new reference for the new numbers. Do you have a new reference? If so, please add it to the article if you are going to add new data. --Timeshifter (talk) 23:13, 4 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Steviedman for the reference, and for adding the new data. I filled out the reference some more:
"Global Wealth Report 2024" (PDF). UBS. See page 18 for top 25 countries in median wealth per adult, and top 25 countries in average (mean) wealth per adult. They are not the same 25 countries. Report does not have data for more countries.
It would be nice if we could mark which data is for 2023. Maybe an asterisk or something. --Timeshifter (talk) 13:19, 5 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Liable figures

[edit]

There are countries were people don't trust the bank system and keep their savings "under the mattres". Young people save in cryptocurrencies. Anywhere is safer than banks. According to the CIA, Argentina and Russia own 10% of the physical dollar bills in the world. I'm a middle class Argentinian, 55 years old, and have 600,000 dollars in savings and properties. If you want to believe tha Argentina is as poor as Africa, go ahead. But you won't change reality by publishing bullsh*t in Wikipedia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2800:810:446:877C:714C:446F:6645:E506 (talk) 17:46, 21 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

If you have some references for some of that info, then that info can be put in the article. --Timeshifter (talk) 18:01, 21 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Update median wealth map to 2023. Draoi28 (talk) 18:44, 12 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Draoi28. Thanks for the map! Please fill in the data source on the image file description first. Then I, or others, can post the file in the article.
All files posted on Wikipedia require sourcing. And you can't use Wikipedia as a source. The sources in this article change over time. You have to link to the root sourcing for this particular image. Commons files are used off Wikipedia too, and so they need the root sourcing for the specific year of data used in the map. --Timeshifter (talk) 19:37, 12 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
The source is the Credit Suisse 2023 global wealth report. Thanks! Draoi28 (talk) 18:29, 11 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Draoi28: Thanks. On the file page please link to the URL where the data is found. --Timeshifter (talk) 23:31, 11 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Not done for now: Closing this request for now per the above. Feel free to re-open when a source is provided. DrOrinScrivello (talk) 20:40, 16 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
