Addition, please.

[edit]

My father, Joseph A. Riley, was awarded the Navy Cross after the Battle of the Coral Sea. He helped to dive bomb and sink the IJN Shoho. I would like to see his name included, please. CrashRiley (talk) 21:58, 15 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Name Spelling Correction

[edit]

Glen Edward Martin, who received the award for actions during the Battle of Eniwetok, should only have one letter "n" in his first name. 98.34.104.66 (talk) 00:51, 24 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Submariners

[edit]

Has someone here got something against submariners? Missing are Dudley W. Morton (3 awards), and Richard O'Kane (3 awards). Toyokuni3 (talk) 00:54, 7 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Who should be listed on this page?

[edit]

The vast majority of names on this page are non-notable (don't have an existing Wikipedia page to link to), and unsourced, and surely we aren't going to list all 1,000+ recipients, even if there were reliable sources, are we? This is an encyclopedia, not a war memorial. I saw this discussion: Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Noticeboard#my grandfather got navy cross and navy start throw not listed and surely the criteria for inclusion can't be a photo of a tombstone and WP:OR. Nothing "against submariners" or anyone's father or grandfather, but the project here is to build an encyclopedia, not to enshrine our ancestors' names in cyberspace.
