Cinema release or film festival release?

These list articles do not seem to specify whether the films should be listed in the year that they premiered at a film festival, or went on general theatrical release (and I suspect that there may be mixed). I suggest adding such a rider to the intro, to avert future problems.

Secondly, if someone could add Birdeater to this list (assuming film festival release - else 2024 list), I would be grateful. My attempts seemed to muck up the table. I could not find an exact date that it was screened at the Sydney FF, so only added month to the article. Laterthanyouthink (talk) 06:29, 25 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
