Chinese name

Is the Chinese name for this food item 九层糕 (jiǔ céng gāo)? 98.123.38.211 (talk) 23:10, 2 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hakka origin

[edit]

Isn't this dessert of Hakka (Chinese) or Peranakan Chinese origin? If so, why not mention that in this article? This video says it was probably developed in southern Fujian: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tB46WSVuWnY 98.123.38.211 (talk) 23:14, 2 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Valid question and this is a bad article. Aiming to help improve this article soon. NoNationalisticNo (talk) 23:56, 3 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Greetings, @NoNationalisticNo. I’ve updated the article to better reflect the dessert’s origins, including its connections to southern Chinese culinary traditions, based on verified academic sources. Unfortunately, I’m unable to directly tag the IP user who raised the original question, but I appreciate their input as well.--Native99girl (talk) 02:52, 30 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Also tapioca flour?

[edit]

Can't it also be made with a base of tapioca flour? 98.123.38.211 (talk) 23:31, 2 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
