qāf and qif
[edit]In the alphabet table both ق qāf and ڨ qif have the pronunciation /q/. Is this a typo or should there be a note on how they differ in practice? --Moyogo/ (talk) 07:54, 29 February 2016 (UTC)
- The letter ق is used in the khowar orthography by Rehmat Aziz Chitrali for the /q/ sound in loanwords, and ڨ for /q/ in native words. For both native words and loanwords only ق is used in the khowar orthography by Nasir Ul-Mulk. 87.8.88.243 (talk) 13:21, 18 February 2025 (UTC)
