Text and/or other creative content from Urdu alphabet was copied or moved into Khowar alphabet on 14 April 2011. The former page's history now serves to provide attribution for that content in the latter page, and it must not be deleted as long as the latter page exists.

qāf and qif

In the alphabet table both ق qāf and ڨ qif have the pronunciation /q/. Is this a typo or should there be a note on how they differ in practice? --Moyogo/ (talk) 07:54, 29 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The letter ق is used in the khowar orthography by Rehmat Aziz Chitrali for the /q/ sound in loanwords, and ڨ for /q/ in native words. For both native words and loanwords only ق is used in the khowar orthography by Nasir Ul-Mulk. 87.8.88.243 (talk) 13:21, 18 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
