Source?

[edit]

User:Moalvb~enwiki changed something in this edit: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Katja_Andy&diff=604904564&oldid=602957323 http://www.lexm.uni-hamburg.de/object/lexm_lexmperson_00004446 says the contrary. What is User:Moalvb~enwiki's source? --AndreasPraefcke (talk) 21:39, 23 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

quasi-anecdote

[edit]

The article notes early on that she studied with both Artur Schnabel and Edwin Fischer. What it doesn't say is that she studied with them both at the same time, which required her to have two sets of sheet music so that she could keep separate her markings from each teacher's instruction. I was a student at New England Conservatory when she taught there (she was "old friends" with my main teacher, Rudolf Kolisch, so we knew each other by sight) and the story as I heard it back then was that the two teachers didn't know she was studying with them both. Obviously "the story as I heard it back then" (fifty years ago now) isn't a reliable source for Wikipedia, but I'm posting it here on the talk page for whatever it's worth as an item of interest.
