Adding unreferenced entries of former employees to lists containing BLP material
[edit]Hello, Please do not add unreferenced names as entries to the list of former employees in articles. Including this type of material in articles does not abide by current consensus and its inclusion is strongly discouraged in our policies and guidelines. The rationales are as follows:
- WP:NOT tells us, Wikipedia is "not an indiscriminate collection of information." As that section describes, just because something is true, doesn't necessarily mean the info belongs in Wikipedia.
- As per WP:V, we cannot include information in Wikipedia that is not verifiable and sourced.
- WP:Source list tells us that lists included within articles (including people's names) are subject to the same need for references as any other information in the article.
- Per WP:BLP, we have to be especially careful about including un-sourced info about living persons.
If you look at articles about companies in general, you will not find mention of previous employees, except in those cases where the employee was particularly notable. Even then, the information is not presented just as a list of names, but is incorporated into the text itself (for example, when a company's article talks about the policies a previous CEO had, or when they mention the discovery/invention of a former engineer/researcher). If a preexisting article is already in the encyclopedia for the person you want to add to a list, it's generally regarded as sufficient to support their inclusion in list material in another article. cheers Deconstructhis (talk) 23:14, 26 April 2011 (UTC)

Tierra del Sol ownership
[edit]Even before going on air, there were issues: "Even" implies it was unusual for a station to have issues before going on air, which is an opinion.
and used a 1975 Texas decision allowing it to do so because of its proximity to a CP&L line: Does this mean it would have been illegal/a legal gray area to do so without this legal decision? If so, explain that, to make it more understandable to readers without this sort of technical knowledge.
Footnote a: Do you mean "disconnect" other PUB customers?
Worse yet, the Mexican peso slumped beginning in February 1982, just two months after the station signed on. That provoked a sharp decline in business activity on the American side of the Rio Grande and created further issues for a station that was already burdened with debt: Words like "worse yet" and and "already burdened with debt" I think push a PoV that the station's situation was really bad. However this is an opinion.
In October 1982, after Tierra del Sol sued Dean and Ludka for splitting the revenues derived from this business: The way this is written means the reader has to figure out what exactly Dean and Ludka did that broke the law. It would be a lot clearer if it was explained explicitly. To be honest, I'm not sure I even have right idea.
The last two months of 1982 would bear Davis out: Opinion
though there was also a hose attached to the vehicle's exhaust: Is this meant to imply something? Otherwise, I don't see why it is notable.
KVEO's financial picture continued to be precarious: Opinion
the buyer and seller could not agree on the value of the assets: How can a deal have been reached when they didn't agree a price?
New urgency was put on the matter: Opinion

and apparently carrying a promise: "Apparently" is so vague. Attribute specifically instead, or state as fact.
Oliveira's ambition to own a new television station eventually put the possibility of another change of ownership on the horizon: What does Oliveira wanting to move on from his position as general manager have to do with ownership?

[26]: Doesn't talk about the economy
- Read the second page of this clipping.
In addition, company studies have shown that Valley residents are more interested in entertainment than in news coverage. "The economy has been hurt so much that people are shying away from news. People do not want to see their problems on TV. You don't need to tell people they are unemployed. They already know it," he said.
- Ah, missed this.

[edit][6] is missing a newspaper name
- Fixed. These refs have to be done manually, and occasionally that happens.
[43] is the only non-newspapers.com reference missing an archive.
- It turns out KGBT is operating on its own auxiliary transmitter, so it's not needed.
RabbitEars and the FCC are the only linked publishers.
