Genres
[edit]I'm irritaded by the genre classification. Does it come from the dutch page? On the dutch page it only says Rock & Metal and not hard Rock and heavy metal.
In my oppinion it's not easy to classify Ilumishade, but surely it's not heavy metal. I would suggest something like progressive metal, modern metal or symphonic metal. 2A02:8071:6380:6E60:6546:F29E:DABA:71B (talk) 13:37, 9 September 2024 (UTC)
- I mean, the genres are unsourced, so it'd be a good idea to look into what can be found in reliable sources. The band refers to itself as both Rock and Heavy metal based on their website, but I think there is more that can be found other than that. HorrorLover555 (talk) 14:25, 9 September 2024 (UTC)
- Are the terms "heavy metal" not used as synonymous to just "metal" most of the time? They seem pretty interchangable.★Trekker (talk) 15:22, 19 March 2025 (UTC)
- After a bit of digging, I did find a few things. In the biography on the band's website, other than the main page where they refer to themselves as "rock/metal", they state on both pages that they are progressive metal or modern prog metal. I did look for other sources and have found not much, but a few:
- Begai, Carl (1 April 2024). "Illumishade - Got A Light?". BraveWords - Where Music Lives. – The band are referred to as "symphonic metal".
- "Review: Illumishade – Another Side of You". Tuonela Magazine. 8 February 2024. – The band are referred to as "Modern melodic metal".
- Baldin, Benedetta (10 February 2024). "Illumishade announce two release shows with Ad Infinitum in Switzerland". Chaoszine. – Referred to as "progressive metal". HorrorLover555 (talk) 16:05, 19 March 2025 (UTC)
