I am the subject of this article and have prepared an update, with ever effort to be neutral and cite outside sources in my sandbox: User:Idamantium/sandbox. Can this be used to update the main article?
Key changes include:
- Lead & infobox—updates to “experience designer” title, removes outdated “artist” label
- Career—adds Uncommon Places Design founding date, cleans up consultancy names and order, removes emphasis on short Rockefeller stint
- Teaching & speaking—adds verifiable talks (GLF 2022, Harvard xDesign, Cusp 2018, Tribeca 2017, Bloomberg Design) and links to SVA IxD faculty profile
- Influence—expandes list of book mentions and adds syllabus uses at UCI, NYU ITP, and Carnegie Mellon
- General cleanup—fixes typos, merges duplicate refs, removes self‑published promotional language
Thanks for considering these edits to improve and update the page! –––– Idamantium (talk) 23:11, 20 April 2025 (UTC)
- A few things (this is not a full review, I have not checked sources):
- Education should be prose, not a cv-like bulleted list.
- "Benedetto founded Uncommon Places Design in 2021" is uncited
- List of selected talks is also cv-like and not needed unless there's something that can said about them beyond "they happened", ideally cited to independent sources
- Most of the "Influence" section reads like namedropping, though "experience design specialist and highly creative dyslexic thinker" could possibly be worked in elsewhere and "Patterns of Transformation" being on syllabi makes sense to include if it is discussed elsewhere in the article, which it probably should be. If she is actually a significant influence on the works that are discussed in the "Influence" section then that should be made clear, but as is she may as well be mentioned in a sentence in each for all I know based on the text here
- I'm aware some of these issues are in the original text as well, I may update that later as well. Overall: independent sources are your friend if you want to include anything that could be perceived under any circumstance as potentially promotional-seeming. Ida Benedetto (artist) → Ida Benedetto (designer) – Reliable secondary sources (for example, her SVA faculty profile, Bloomberg Design interview, etc.) describe her primarily as a designer rather than an artist. --Idamantium (talk) 23:48, 20 April 2025 (UTC)
