Labour has 403 seats not 406

[edit]

Really no explanation for this every other Wikipedia page talking about the labour seats has 403 and even the Parliamentary website has it as 403 https://members.parliament.uk/parties/commons Haf Grorkuv (talk) 23:15, 8 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

It's just that no one has got round to changing it yet, and it's not obvious how to do so, since the information doesn't seem to be directly in the source. As well as the incorrect Labour figure, Independents should be 9 (not including the 5 members of the Independent Alliance who are listed separately) and Reform should be changed to 5 following the Runcorn and Helsby by-election. Figured it out - the information is at Template:UK Parliament political groups - now updated. Mark and inwardly digest (talk) 07:01, 3 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Should we add it to notes Haf Grorkuv (talk) 13:56, 3 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Patrick Spencer Tory whip suspended

[edit]

I have updated the numbers if someone else can do the diagram. Mark and inwardly digest (talk) 14:30, 13 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Independent Alliance

[edit]

The number of Independent Alliance MPs has been changed from 5 to 6, following Zarah Sultana's announcement of forming a new party with Jeremy Corbyn. Although it's clear that Sultana has allied herself with Corbyn, it's not so clear whether she's now a member of the IA, which of course is only (at present) an informal parliamentary grouping and not a party. Some news sources have reported Sultana as having joined the IA but there's been no specific confirmation of this from Sultana herself (to my knowledge). It's also not possible to verify this through the HoC website, given that it only lists 15 independent MPs without distinguishing between IA members and other independents. Mark and inwardly digest (talk) 14:48, 5 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I think she is co-founding a new party with Corbyn, but hasn't joined the Independent Alliance, which isn't a party anyway. Saitzken (talk) 19:55, 9 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Changing the diagram (yet again)

[edit]

The diagram needs to be updated again by someone who knows how to do this, reflecting the 4 Labour MPs who have been suspended today. Mark and inwardly digest (talk) 17:14, 16 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
